Banbury’s Remembrance Sunday is on Sunday 8 November 2026. The parade forms up outside the Town Hall from about 10am, sets off at 10.15am for a service at St Mary’s Church at 10.45am, and the wreaths are laid at the war memorial in People’s Park at 12 noon. It is free and run by Banbury Town Council.

These come from the Banbury Town Council event page, which lists the event on Sunday 8 November 2026 from 10am to 2pm.

The council describes it as a tradition of “over 100 years”, with the British Army, the RAF, the Royal Navy, the Royal British Legion and the Banbury RAFA Club among those taking part.
One small trap on the council’s page: its FAQ still says the event is on “Sunday 9th November”, which was last year’s date. The listing itself, and the calendar, give Sunday 8 November 2026, which is the second Sunday of November this year.
What to know before you go
The council’s own advice, from the same page:
- Getting a seat in church: space in St Mary’s is limited, and entry is not allowed once the service begins at around 10.45am or once every seat is taken. If you want to be inside, walk with the parade or get there early.
- Arriving late: you can join the parade anywhere along its route, and you can attend the wreath laying at any time as long as you stay quiet.
- Parking: the council names The Light, Bolton Road and Castle Quay car parks as unaffected by the parade closures. See parking in Banbury for prices.
- By train or bus: the Town Hall is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Banbury station and a short walk from the bus station.
- Dogs: welcome on a lead, but not inside St Mary’s, and they must not be left alone outside.
- Food and drink: there are no stalls. Town centre cafes and pubs are open.
- Poppies: the council will have a Royal British Legion station at the Town Hall, and poppies are sold in shops across town.
Road closures
The parade passes along the High Street, and the council refers to “parade road closures”. We found no Remembrance order for Banbury on Oxfordshire County Council’s large public events register when we checked on 25 September; the only Banbury entry this autumn is the Michaelmas Fair. Expect short rolling closures while the parade moves, and check our roadworks page nearer the day.
Bicester
Bicester Town Council lists Remembrance Sunday on Sunday 8 November 2026, 11am to 1pm, at the Market Square, with a parade followed by a church service. The council has not yet published a detailed running order.
Armistice Day
Armistice Day, 11 November, falls on a Wednesday this year. Neither town council has published an 11am event for it yet. We will add any we find.
