Perry Tree Farm in Adderbury is open now and Hadsham Farm from 17 October, both £6 entry. Halloween is a Saturday; here is what runs that week near Banbury.

Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October this year, the day after half term ends. Banbury Town Council and Banbury BID have no Halloween event of their own on their published calendars, so the big draws are two pumpkin farms just outside town. Perry Tree Farm at Adderbury opened today, and Hadsham Farm at Horley opens on Saturday 17 October. Both charge £6 to get in, and the pumpkins cost extra.

The quick answer

  • Pumpkin picking now: Perry Tree Farm, Milton Road, Adderbury, OX17 3HN. Weekends from today, then every day of half term. £6 a head, under-2s free.

Pumpkin picking near Banbury

Perry Tree Farm, Adderbury

Perry Tree Farm is on Milton Road just outside Adderbury. This is its sixth pumpkin season.

  • Open: 10am to 4pm, last entry 2.30pm, on weekends from Saturday 3 October and every day of half term week, up to Friday 30 October. On Halloween it opens 10am to noon only, for last-minute pumpkins.
  • Entry: £6 a person, under-2s free. Pumpkins are not included in the entry fee. Book a date on the farm’s page.
  • What is there: more than 2,500 pumpkins, squash and gourds, two scavenger hunts, carnival games, a spooky woodland walk with a “carnEVIL” and graveyard theme (included in entry), chickens and ponies, and coffee, cold drinks and cake.
  • Carving: during half term week only, £12 a person, which includes entry, a pumpkin worth up to £4 and a goodie bag. You carve on site and leave the mess there.
  • Dogs: not allowed, because there is livestock on site.
  • Parking: free, on site.

Hadsham Farm, Horley

Hadsham Farm is at Horley, near Banbury, close to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire borders. It opens to the public for pop-up events only, and its 2026 Pumpkin Festival runs on 17 and 18 October, then every day from 24 to 31 October.

  • Entry: £6, under-2s free. Every ticket must be booked in advance (except under-2s) and tickets are non-refundable.
  • Pumpkins: £1 to £10 each, depending on size, picked from the field with a sledge. There is also a pre-picked selection of eating pumpkins.
  • Carving: kits in the Pumpkin Barn, but the farm says carving itself is for adults over 16 only. Younger children can design and scoop.
  • For children: a goblin hunt, a trebuchet “goblin launch”, a 400m sensory trail through the woods, scarecrow building, a bale maze for small children, a daily Golden Pumpkin prize, an indoor sandpit and a playground.
  • Dogs: well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.
  • Bring: wellies and coats. The field gets muddy and the barns are not heated. Off-road pushchairs are advised for the trail and the patch; the main barns and toilets are on hard standing.

The farm’s page does not give daily opening hours. Check the booking page when you choose a slot.

Half term week, 26 to 30 October

The full week is on our October half term page. The Halloween-themed parts are these:

  • Banbury Museum crafts, Spiceball Park Road, OX16 2PQ: Halloween Lanterns on Monday 26 October and Halloween Monsters on Friday 30 October, both at 10.30am and 1.30pm. £4 a child, ages 3 and up, booking essential. Rocking Witches is on the Wednesday.
  • Hocus Pocus: Live Experience, The Mill Arts Centre, Friday 30 October, 2.30pm. £16, with £2.50 off when you book four or more. It runs 1 hour 10 minutes, age guidance 6+, and The Mill warns of haze, flashing lights and some “spooky” elements.

Further out

Fairytale Farm, Chipping Norton

Scarily Ever After runs from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November at Fairytale Farm, Southcombe, OX7 5QH. It is a puzzle trail, a pumpkin patch where every child is given one pumpkin, a carving marquee and a friendly witch. The farm says no special ticket is needed: the Halloween activities come with a standard day ticket, with face painting extra. Its Illuminated Evenings run every night of the event at no extra charge.

On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October there is a Potions and Spells Halloween and Illuminations Party: £17.99 an adult, £16.99 a child, with admission from 3pm, party activities from 5pm to 7pm and a hot meal and drink included.

Sulgrave Manor

Sulgrave Manor, built by George Washington’s ancestors, in Northamptonshire, has closed for the season but holds a Halloween-themed Twilight Tour on Friday 30 October, 5pm to 7pm, with refreshments. Tickets must be booked in advance through its online shop. The price is not shown on the events page.

Upton House

The National Trust’s site blocked our check this time, so we could not confirm Upton House’s Halloween programme. Our half term page has what it listed when we last read it. Check the Upton House page before you go.

Is there a Halloween event in Banbury town centre?

Not one run by the town. Banbury Town Council’s events calendar for the rest of 2026 lists the Canal Festival, the Michaelmas Fair (14 to 17 October), Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas lights switch-on, and nothing for Halloween. Banbury BID’s news page has no Halloween trail for 2026. If a business or group runs one, tell us and we will add it here.

After Halloween: fireworks

Banbury has no bonfire night display this year. Bodicote’s display at Banbury Cricket Club has ended, and the nearest confirmed one is Kidlington Fireworks Night on Thursday 5 November. The details are on our Banbury fireworks page.

Getting there

Both pumpkin farms have their own parking, and Perry Tree Farm’s is free. For the museum and The Mill, use the town centre car parks on our parking in Banbury page. Be aware that the Michaelmas Fair closes Bridge Street, Cornhill and part of High Street from 13 to 18 October, which takes in Hadsham’s opening Saturday. The closures are on our Banbury roadworks page.
